Vintage Polka Dot Set

When I was in Austin a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of acting like a local, with some true locals. Vintage shopping seems to be everywhere in Austin, so I was taken to a handful of vintage shops and I landed a few items I love, including this retro pink polka dot set.

A new-found respect for vintage

Admittedly I’ve never been a big vintage shopper, but while I was down in Austin for a conference I as accompanied by some locals to a day of vintage shopping. I was impressed to say the least and coming out of that vintage shopping-filled day, I can say I have a new-found respect for vintage and hope that I have some more opportunity to shop soon! In NYC it’s hard to find, in my opinion, vintage stores that are priced as vintage. I feel like they tend to skew high-end boutique vintage. This set that I retrieved from Revival Vintage in Austin was $18 dollars and it was love at first sight. I had to have it!

If you’ve never shopped vintage before, I highly recommend trying everything on that you might be interested in. Sizing is totally different than how I feel we’re sized now so it’s helpful to run into the dressing room quickly to make sure you love an item. Jordan and I are finally in town for a couple weekends in a row and I’m THRILLED about it. This last month has been so busy, it feels nice to have some time to just go with the flow. The other day we went into the city for some Italian at a place we’ve both been dying to try; ‘lil Frankies. It’s owned by @frankprisinzano (if you don’t follow him, you should!) and whenever he cooks for the restaurant it looked divine. We ended up pigging out on 3 different pasta dishes (don’t worry we brought 2 boxes home) and a couple glasses of wine. A perfect evening in the city in my opinion. I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Now, it’s on to fall shopping.
