Summer Greenery in the West Village
The ivy covered apartment on West 11th Street is one of my favorite buildings in the city. There’s some thing so iconic and beautiful about an apartment, in a city like New York, that is covered in vines. It transports me to some place else – Charleston or Savannah.
I’m cherishing these weekends in the city
Summer in the city is so wonderful. You know, for a concrete jungle, there certainly is a lot of green! The ivy covered apartment on West 11th Street is one of my favorite buildings in the city. There’s something so iconic and beautiful about an apartment, in a city like New York, that is covered in vines. It transports me to some place else in the county – Charleston or Savannah.
June in the city is a time when flowers and trees are all in bloom; it’s so beautiful and green and a great time to visit the city. To think that just a few months ago the trees were made up of only branches and we were dealing with snow storms is hard to imagine. Since starting this blog years ago I feel that I’ve become so observant to the beauty in the city. Every street corner is beautiful and it brings so much happiness to me just wandering aimlessly. I love walking around downtown with no plans. The weekends have been consisting of a lot of unplanned sight-seeing and trying new places (like The Butchers Daughter that we tried on this day). I have purposefully been trying not to not book to many activities on the weekends because I love having days with no plans.
I love this floral peplum top for summer paired with this new skirt. I didn’t even realize how well they actually went together until last-minute. I love it when that happens! I think my favorite part about the outfit are the big sleeves and the peplum top because it makes for a flattering combo with the tighter skirt. Also, the shirt is currently on sale for $33! Can we also talk about the fact that it is already past mid-June? How is it even JUNE! The days lately have been passing by so quickly and I think part of it is because my brain has been moving a million miles a minute. We have a trip coming up this Thursday, and then my Birthday (yay!), followed by the 4th of July, a Charleston trip, Cape Cod and then France. I mean what?
I’m cherishing these weekends in the city and all the greenery around us right now. I love it so much and I wish it could last much longer.
