Upstate New York Corn Fields
We spent 5 days at home over the 4th of July holiday which was really nice. I’m not sure if we will get home again until the end of summer so I made sure to enjoy every second – which meant rolling around in a field of hay, duh!
We joke about getting a farm with goats. Maybe one day!
There is truly no place like home! I’ve said it so many times, and perhaps every time I come back to the city; I miss home. I miss my parents, the vacation-like escape I have every time I visit, the landscape with the open spaces; cows, corn fields, open roads and of course, the peace and quiet. I talked about it a little bit on my IGTV the other day. Having my sister here in the city makes it much easier though – I don’t know what I would do if she wasn’t here!
We spent 5 days at home over the 4th of July holiday which was really nice. I’m not sure if we will get home again until the end of summer so I made sure to enjoy every second. The weather was amazing the entire time we were home, which is a bit rare. We spent almost every day either outside in the yard or visiting some of our favorite spots; breweries, restaurants and towns. On one of the days Jordan and I decided to get out on our own and drive around some of the big open roads – blasting country music. I can’t remember the last time we did that! There’s miles of farmland around our house and its truly gorgeous. Every time we drive around we joke about getting a farm with goats – maybe one day!
When I look at these photos it reminds me of some pictures I have when I was younger with one of my best friends. We were sitting in a hay field with dandelions. Growing up in a rural area it was so common to go outside and play all day in fields – it’s one of my favorite pastimes. I think subconsciously that feeling from my past was part of the reason I jumped out of the car for these photos.
I wore this top from &OtherStories with my new Madewell jeans because I had a feeling I would end up in a field with some hay. I bought these jeans after trying them on the other day in-store. They are so so soft and easy to throw on. I could wear them ev-er-y-day. You guys know how obsessed I am with Madewell jeans so of course I had to get another pair for summer. &OtherStories recently opened up a few stores in NYC and it’s given me the opportunity to browse the stores quite a bit. I love the style of their clothes and I had to grab this light top – I know it will be great for hot days in the city too.
Hopefully I will have time to make it home a couple more times before summer is over. There is no place like home!
