Summertime Feels
Hello Summertime! Even though we’re about 7 days away from the official launch of summer, the weather in the city tells me it’s here now. So naturally the first item I pulled out of my closet in this heat wave was my off the shoulder blue striped top (last seen here), and my favorite white culottes that I got from French Connection a few years ago (last seen here, here and here).
Effortless outfits make me the most happy
I’ve had these white culottes for longer than I can remember. They’re an item that each summer I reach for multiple times because they are extremely effortless and fit my FFC guidelines (Fashion, Functionality & Comfort). I’m working on a downtown eatery guide, so the other day we went over to one of my favorite restaurants, 12 Chairs for some brunch, followed by a brief walk. If you’ve been following along on IG Stories, you may know that I tore my meniscus, which means it’s hard for me to walk far, and I have to wear a knee brace until I undergo surgery. Therefore, I’ve been making sure to wear items that cover my knee to avoid having a big black brace in all of our photos!
Effortless outfits make me the most happy. There is nothing I hate more than having to wear something that I’m uncomfortable in (that used to be stockings). My goal this summer, is to try more long dresses, midi skirts and culottes. I typically reach for dress lengths that are shorter in the summer – for obvious reasons, but since having to wear longer clothing with my injury, I’m really starting to like it!
