The Vacation Dress

Outfit: Cordoba Dress (similar here, here, here, here and here), Soludos Sandals (also love these and these)

More Stripes please!

Before I left for Mexico I was so focused on finding vacation attire that would make me feel comfortable, tropical and cool. I had been looking forward to this trip for months, so naturally I wanted to make sure I found items that I not only loved, but that could also carry me through the spring / summer months as well. This dress is absolutely that!

I had come across this dress about a month ago on ShopBop before I left for my trip. I had gone back and forth on whether or not to buy it for so long; I think I looked at it everyday. I will admit, the price is a bit more than I would typically spend, which was the main reason why it took me a month to bite the bullet. But, I bought it, and I’m so happy I did.

I think it’s important for everyone to have some pieces that make them feel really special, which is how this dress makes me feel.  While it’s a small investment, it was worth it to me. It’s extremely comfortable and light-weight, which will be perfect for summertime in the city – and anywhere else! I styled the dress pretty simply, but I’m looking forward to dressing it up a bit more next time I wear it. I’d love to throw on some fun tassel earrings and a pair of wedges for a date night, or a girls night!

One night on our trip, the resort hosted a Mexican themed party which included mariachi bands, margaritas, tacos, and dancing. It was the perfect opportunity to wear this dress. We had such a blast that night – all together as a family!
