Magic on Mulberry

There are so many great places to eat in the city, however, I can’t help myself from becoming overwhelmed at times. There are so many options to choose from and so many different cuisines to try, I sometimes just end up going downstairs to a deli to get a “make your own” salad, which is so lame. Luckily, I have some major foodie friends at work who tend to find great new places to try. Friday is the day of the week where we all throw our hands up and surrender to our work loads, and take an hour and a half lunch and don’t think twice about it. I love those days.

Last Friday we decided to try this hole in the wall Cafe called Ruby’s, located on Mulberry street between Prince and Spring. We had to wait 20 minutes before sitting, the entire place was packed – all 15 seats. Once we were seated, I was told that Ruby’s was an Australian Cafe, which only made me fall more in love. The atmosphere is so laid back, and everyone was so kind, no wonder it had so many amazing reviews. The menu was simple; burgers, salads, pasta and sandwiches, though the plates they brought out looked so delicious and chuck full of  fresh ingredients. I opted for a pear and goat cheese salad, served with chicken and walnuts. It was one of the best salads I’d ever had, I swear. The others I was with got sandwiches and burgers, which I was told were phenomenal (they looked it too). They also serve alcohol, which is always a plus! I can’t wait to go back and try one of their famous burgers!

Wedding Fever

These past 10 months have been consumed by all things related to my wedding. Pinterest and various wedding websites have been my go-to as I am constantly filling my head, and my Pinterest board with ideas and inspiration for August. Pinterest started out as my main source for wedding info, as I think it has some amazing content, however I have definitely curved my habits and am becoming more interested in sites which are devoted to only wedding content. I’ve listed some of my favorite websites below. I definitely recommend checking these out if you are planning your wedding, or are simply looking for some inspiration for the future! I have a feeling that these next 7 months are going to fly by!

Cheers To A Great Year

2013 has been on of those years that I will look back on and remember forever. Some really great things happened, one of the biggest being that my long time boyfriend of 8 years proposed to me in May! It has been almost 8 months since he proposed and within those months I’ve been able to add many more important moments to my 2013 calendar.

To start off the list, which is in no particular order of importance; 1) My parents built a brand new house (the picture above is during construction) which was a difficult move since previously we were in our house for 17 years! 2) I tried Indian food for the first time and surprisingly loved it! 3) I attended my first ever Bridal event at Kleinfeld’s in NYC with my sister, it was such a blast! 4)  One of my closest friends got married and I was a Bridesmaid in her wedding, which is a first! 5) My best friend got engaged in October in which I will be her Matron on Honor (our wedding’s are a month apart). 6) I met “the” Jamie Foxx while out on a client meeting, he was very kind and ended up getting in picture with my coworker and I  7) My family and I went on our annual “Brillanti Family Vacation” to Mexico. 8) While in Mexico, my sister and I had the opportunity to swim with Whale Sharks, which was absolutely amazing, scary, but amazing. 9)  I saw Kayne West in concert in Brooklyn. Despite what some people may think, he is amazing, and is on the top of my list of best concerts ever (Beyonce is #1 if you are wondering).  10) Last but not least, Jordan and I moved in together finally! We decided re-locate from the East Village of Manhattan to Battery Park, which is all the way down by the Financial District. We absolutely love it, and Lex (our dog) loves the area as well.

I am excited to see what 2014 will bring – In addition to our Wedding and Honeymoon in August! Happy New Year!
