There are so many great places to eat in the city, however, I can’t help myself from becoming overwhelmed at times. There are so many options to choose from and so many different cuisines to try, I sometimes just end up going downstairs to a deli to get a “make your own” salad, which is so lame. Luckily, I have some major foodie friends at work who tend to find great new places to try. Friday is the day of the week where we all throw our hands up and surrender to our work loads, and take an hour and a half lunch and don’t think twice about it. I love those days.
Last Friday we decided to try this hole in the wall Cafe called Ruby’s, located on Mulberry street between Prince and Spring. We had to wait 20 minutes before sitting, the entire place was packed – all 15 seats. Once we were seated, I was told that Ruby’s was an Australian Cafe, which only made me fall more in love. The atmosphere is so laid back, and everyone was so kind, no wonder it had so many amazing reviews. The menu was simple; burgers, salads, pasta and sandwiches, though the plates they brought out looked so delicious and chuck full of fresh ingredients. I opted for a pear and goat cheese salad, served with chicken and walnuts. It was one of the best salads I’d ever had, I swear. The others I was with got sandwiches and burgers, which I was told were phenomenal (they looked it too). They also serve alcohol, which is always a plus! I can’t wait to go back and try one of their famous burgers!
