Coffee Break in NYC

Each with its unique charm, these shops contributed to my evolving palate and deepened my love for the city’s coffee culture. It’s safe to say I might not visit every coffee shop in town, but I’ve discovered so many favorites I want to keep going back to.

I was never a huge coffee lover until I moved down to NYC. It’s hard not to become a coffee snob when you have access to so many amazing coffee shops here in the city. While I don’t consider myself a coffee snob by any means, I can tell the difference between a great cup of joe and a mediocre one. Coffee has become part of my weekend ritual too. I look forward to relaxing in the morning at a coffee shop on the weekends, even if it’s just for a few minutes, it’s nice to walk in and mingle with others in there doing the same thing as me. We have a ton of great coffee shops around the neighborhood that I frequent. One of my favorites is Kaffe 1668. We found this gem in the middle of winter last year while walking around Tribeca in search for shelter from the cold wind gusts. There are a couple Kaffe 1668’s where we live, my favorite is the one on the corner of Beach and Greenwhich. I’m not sure I will ever visit them all, but I’ve been to enough now that I’ve found some favorites!

I’m wearing a light wool jacket from Theory (that I rented from Rent The Runway – love that company), and I threw a navy blue sweater right under it because it was a bit chilly outside. It was the perfect combo and I felt very ‘fall’ – a feeling I’m working really hard at these days considering it’s still 65 degrees outside!
